Heather taught at Portsmouth College of Art and Design from 1973-1996 specialising in exhibition design, foundation studies and constructed textiles. Her textiles are colourful, visually stimulating and boldly applied, not restricted by the confines of precise embroidery.

Heather told us "the idea of A Sailor’s Dream evolved from my husband’s love of sailing and my own fanciful answer to the possible ship wreck he and others might endure. A sexy mermaid who appears through the surf to whisk him away to a watery end, what a lovely thought!". Heather’s work has been exhibited in London and around the South of England.
