Janice was born in Derbyshire but has lived here in Hampshire for 40 years. Although she has a deep love of the rugged Derbyshire countryside she found inspiration in the ever-changing landscapes of Hampshire, with its range of coastal areas, interesting woodland, historic towns and pretty, quaint villages.

Originally a primary school headteacher, Janice has found great pleasure in her painting since retirement. She enjoys experimenting with new techniques but her great love is watercolours, with their clear translucence and 'happy accident' qualities.
